it would cost about 60-70 dollars a month for dsl; to get a static ip address, you have talk to your internet service provider to get one, or switch providers and ask for a static ip.
If you’re wanting to startup a serious web hosting business, you should not even consider hosting on your own server at home or at the office.
Use a hosting company. You can get a dedicated server leased there. The reason is that most have several trunks going in and out so that they can maintain a high % uptime.
If you host on DSL and something happens with your home router, you install something that causes you to need to reboot, someone outside cuts your line with a backhoe, you’re going to have some ticked off customers whose sites are down.
Host with a hosting company. It may seem cool to manage your own server (been there, done that), but it’s not feasible as a real viable business. If someone else is responsible for uptime, and server administration.. all you have to worry about is developing sites
