I need to create a professional looking site for a college business club. I’ve used google sites and really like it however, I’d like to create my own web address. I looked at weebly, but weebly sites look more like blogs than websites. Any recommendations? I have no web site making experience besides fiddling around w/ google sites. Thanks!

If you’re just starting out with web design and want something professional, such as a college business club, I would recommend you to try Microsoft Office Small Business, a free service from Microsoft. While it’s targeted at small businesses, it works very well for personal sites, fan sites, hobbies, clubs, etc. It has no annoying banner ads or popups like other free hosts.
Office Live has a free, easy to use online web designer tool which allows you to create a website without the need to know how to do HTML/CSS coding. If has 500MB of storage, as well as free email, contact manager (useful for a college club to send out newsletters, etc.), document workspace (useful to share documents with your club staff). You can also upload your own website designed with HTML editors such as Dreamweaver or Expression Web.
Currently, Microsoft is offering a free domain name (i.e. yourdomain.com) for the first year with Office Live (this is optional, as you can use a free subdomain provided by Office Live). Try it out:

Buy a domain name ( 10 $ for a year generally)
Use nvu (download free at nvu.com or dreamweaver software for building your site.)
Get a good template for free ( try http://www.freecsstemplates.com/)
use a free ftp software to upload your site

Instead of taking someones recommendation buy the mag or check it out at your local library.
Try Global Domains Int.
It’s only $10 a month and it comes with a basic web hosting package, a website builder and email accounts.

I recommend http://www.hosttell.com/one They are one of the leading European web hosting companies, currently hosting over 500 000 websites. They have plans starting from $1.45/month. Every plan includes Photo Gallery, WebEditor (so you can build a website without knowledge of HTML), Google Adwords coupon (so you can advertise your website on google for free) and a lot more. Check them out.
