Hello guys!
i was wondering how safe i am surfing the net through my VMware windows xp virtual machine. What i would like to know is, as i am using the windows vista (host OS) to connect to the internet and then using the actual internet on my Guest OS (windows xp) to surf the net. Can my host OS get infected if i am surfing sites on my Guest OS???
If yes, then alternately would it be safer to surf the net through guest OS by installing the drivers for the modem in the virtual machine and not using the host OS for internet access at all. Will i still be at risk if i surf like this? I dont want to loose my data to the spyware and stuff, i hear lots of loosers are trying to steal your bank account and credit card info via some spyware/malware and i dunno what more f****kware
i just want to surf the web safely and not get infected with virus and all crap. I know it sounds quite impossible but would just surfing the net through my virtual machine make me feel safer or can the hackers crack my virtual machine as well?
I’m scared to access emails and stuff these days, never do so on public computers.
plz advice
