How do I set up an ubuntu web server?
So I want to host a website that I created, I have heard that ubuntu is a great OS to use so I have decided to us it. I am a newbie when it comes to setting up a server but I feel I can learn a lot as I go. Installing the OS shouldn’t be hard, I mean you put the CD in and let it do its magic. The problem I feel I will have is setting up the actual server. I want to run phpBB (forum site) I know ill need PHP, and MySQL, and probably Apache. im not really good in web designing and i cay say that i only know basic stuff to begin with. but im sure that i can always learn and ask in the future. can anyone recommend any good hosting server (free, if there’s any) for a newbie like me? thanks

Very general question on updating web pages?
Before I begin let me state I have no web development experience so this question is coming from a newbie. I’m thinking of switching my website from a free host web server to my brother’s Linux server?
I’m a newbie at this but I’m concerned about security and bandwidth. Also I’m not familiar with Linux so I’d have to learn a bunch of new commands. I only know Windows. Could you give me any info about Linux? Is it worth it to do all this?
