Imagine the riots here if they turned off the Internet…. People would go nuts.

Don’t think it is a good idea

Oh yes, deny people information while they (the government) take complete control.

This is what Obama has been fighting for. I’m completely against it, like most conservatives.

I don’t know let me think do I want any type of group with guns as we have freedom to purchase, running over the constitution of this country to place the type of government they think is best, keeping in mine that they used force to obtain it…? That’s a hard one…

love how the kids still call this a “conservative” issue…

check out the wiretapping provisions of the Patriot Act….several of the legal documents drafted to ensure the legality of electronic surveillance portions were written by Eric Holder while he served as a staff lawyer the Clinton Administration..

That’s ATTY GEN Eric Holder for you guys who think that Fox and Sarah Palin are both government agencies..

Eric Holder has also been fighting for an internet “kill switch”
…He has argued against encryption software in the hands of private individuals..
….he has demanded that ISPs keep traffic logs for a minimum of two years…
…and, guess what, the Patriot Act is bigger and badder under his watch…

    I say hang them high.
And do it before it’s to late.

The problem with our politicians is it seems they do not fear us.
Anyone speaking out against them is then labeled an extremist and paranoid, then with the power of the media they all ready control, they can have you arrested as an enemy of the USA.

When is enough going to be enough, when are people going to start to push back?

Unfortunately the US government has been wanting this for the last 5years or more. Bush and his cronies were trying to put this kind of “switch” in place, and to make surveillance easier, especially as part of the Patriot act. The current administration appears to be carrying on this effort mostly because although the president is different, the administration is not.
Unfortunately they have been attempting to make this type of control more universal so it can be used against a lot of different groups and people, including the people who share music and movies online, but also against people critical of the government. It was supposed to be to protect us from terrorists, but like usually happens , it’s just too tempting to expand it to other areas, not necessarily just criminals or in “emergencies”. They are trying to hide some of these controls in the new Internet Neutrality legislation. Pretty sneaky.

Lieberman has surprised a lot of people by acting like a fascist in more and more ways. His recent actions against wikileaks has made it obvious.
