   It depends on what you want to do with it – these days there are so many hosting companies very offer very competitive rates – a 5 dollar a month comapny is most times as good as a 15 dolalr a month company -I chose hostmonster.com – because of the insane plethroa of free features, support for FTP, unlimited web space and traffic.

   The only thing the didnt offer was support for ASP, which turns out I realyl would have liked :< but if your going to do something simple, I would highly recommend them.

   I’d be happy to walk you through it. There are a lot of good and cheap hosts available. Spending more does not always get more.

   I use http://www.IMH0STED.com and am happy, but some of my web clients use other companies with equally good results.

   Just what do you need? I’d be happy to give you a couple of suggestions.

   Any bad web hosting service would trouble you for a long period. At first, try to choose a reliable service to get rid of the subsequent problems. It is very important that your service be uptime. It means that you can access your account whenever you want to update your web pages, and your visitors can view your website whenever they type your website address. If your hosting service is not uptime it is real hell!

   Hi Lynne,

   When choosing a web host it’s of course important to consider the cost (some hosting can be very expensive) but here are some other important things you should take into consideration too:

   Web Hosting Space: Some web hosts will only give you 500MB or so of space. This could be a concern if you are looking at creating large websites.

   Bandwidth: Some web hosts will severely limit the bandwidth you can use before you incur extra charges.

   Uptime: There’s no point in having a website if people can’t see it. Does your web host offer at least a 99% uptime guarantee?

   Number of websites allowed: If you’re looking to host more than one website on your account, will your web host charge you more to do this?

   Support: If you have any problems you need to be able to contact your web host quickly and easily to get the problem sorted.

   I have used Hostgator as my web host for over two years now and have been very very impressed with them. Firstly they’re very cheap but still give me more web hosting space and bandwidth than I’ll ever need, the ability to host unlimited websites, a 99.9% uptime guarantee and great customer support.    Today, cheaper – means “less cost” or “less price” but many web hosting services not only sell service for cheap, but their service is really “cheap” (POOR) in terms of reliablity, performance, control and uptime.

   So, cheap – doesnt means just less price, but everything u get is poor. It’s always good to buy from an affordable web hosting provider rather than cheap web hositng provider.
